Panel Discussion - "Jazz: Integrated Art in Segregated America"

6:00 PM—Oxford American is proud to present an outreach event in partnership with the Clinton School of Public Service entitled "Jazz: Integrated Art in Segregated America," a symposium and panel discussion surrounding music and race. The discussion will be led by Dr. Jackie Lamar, Professor of Saxophone at University of Central Arkansas’s College of Fine Arts and Communication. A jazz performance will follow the panel discussion.

Alvin Fielder Group

8:00 PM—The Oxford American is proud to present jazz ensemble the Alvin Fielder Group at South on Main. The concert starts at 8:00 PM. This event is $10 regular, or $5 students/artists payable in cash at the doors on the night of the show. Preceding the concert at 6:00 PM, a free panel discussion entitled "Jazz: Integrated Art in Segregated America" will be held, in partnership with the Clinton School of Public Service.

Pokey LaFarge [Archetypes & Troubadours Series]
